In the United States, on a bridge, three characters: 2 men and 1 woman. Three neurotics, born from the American dream! Helen wants to “be a good wife” but has the intelligence of a man. Milt is the archetype of the self-made man, glorified by society but he cheats on his wife. Harry, poet or madman, got lost one day in the haze of the American dream. And they all want to believe in Loooove!
Murray Schisgal is notably the author of “Tootsie” with Dustin Hoffman. A mix of Ionesco, for the absurd; Gogol, for sarcastic observation; with a good dose of Jewish humor!
