What is the role of seniors in the company?

cjd-nice-2.jpg While it is still difficult to precisely measure the impact of the baby-boom on our organizations, the loss of know-how and expertise presents considerable risks in terms of performance and development for the company. The retirement age is and will be later, but paradoxically, the number of retirements will increase, particularly for the most qualified jobs.

Implementing a process of knowledge and skills transfer is a process of creating, enriching, capitalizing, and disseminating know-how and experience from the older to the newer employees. But beyond know-how, this skills transfer represents an essential element of corporate culture, the sense of belonging, and the link between generations.

These processes require methodologies and tools, which some have already developed, either through an empirical approach sometimes as old as apprenticeship or through research and innovation within the company. EDHEC and the CJD wished to discuss this theme with actors who have different perspectives based on their position, experiences, and the solutions they implement to address the major challenge of the baby-boom, extended work for seniors, and intergenerational links.

  • Cรฉcile Bourgarel, Head of the creation, transmission, and financial engineering division of the CCI.
