Response tomorrow at the Palais des Expositions, which will traditionally host the Association’s Meeting but, this year, with a gourmet and culinary edition that will be offered to thousands of loyal visitors and exhibitors. Indeed, the finals of the “Chef for a Day” competition will take place, live and in public, from 11 AM to 4 PM in the Gastronomy space.
Organized by the City of Nice in collaboration with the Cercle de la Capelina d’Or, this competition started two months ago with its launch. Since then, more than 200 applications have been received by the organizers who had the tough task of selecting 10 for the final stage, which will take place tomorrow.
It is Franck Viano, well-known to Nice Premium as he was its creator, who is behind this event with his lifelong friend, the president of the Capelina d’Or, Chef Franck Bermond: “It will be a great event, and everyone participating is delighted and eagerly awaiting Saturday to experience this premiere. The reception of the selected candidates was fantastic.”
Indeed, it will be a beautiful competition, starting at 11 AM, with the first selections of the 10 pissaladières that were chosen based on technical data sheets and photos and will be tasted by the jury, which will select the 4 qualifiers for the grand afternoon final.
At 1:30 PM, it will be the grand finale for juniors, featuring 4 budding chefs competing around an iconic recipe from Nice cuisine. Marina, Lola, Eric, and Clément will have 15 minutes to try to secure the first “Chef for a Day” title.
.
At 2:30 PM, the four lucky finalists from the morning will compete in a contest divided into two rounds. Initially, one of the flagship recipes of Nice cuisine will be revealed live by the jury. In the first round, the contestants must make the recipe in the most traditional way. In the second part of the final, they will have to create this recipe with the same products but “in their own way.”
No doubt that indulgence and gastronomy will be present at this association’s meeting, which this year will whet your appetite…
