Launched by the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) during its 1st congress in 1951, the World Deaf Day is organized every year around the world by deaf communities and associations.
Join us this Saturday, September 27th, from 2 PM to 11 PM, at Place Garibaldi and within the Garibaldi Community Center for a unique day of exchange between deaf and hearing communities!
Shows, screenings, debates, and information booths are part of the program of this day dedicated to raising public awareness about the world of deafness…
The aim is to highlight the daily challenges faced by deaf people and to inform about possible solutions.
Starting at 2 PM at Place Garibaldi, there will be awareness activities about deafness and French Sign Language (LSF) with interpreters from ARMILS, trainers from Pi-Sourds, artists from Signes, and the Deaf from NSLS.
Later, you can attend the Poésignes show “My Deaf Life” by Mathilde Chabbey and the Signes Compagnie association.
In the Garibaldi Community Center, two screenings and a debate will allow for discussions about this disability with the following program:
