The junior world champion, Loïc Piétri (-81 kg), secured a second prestigious victory on Sunday after the Warsaw World Cup. Indeed, the Nice native, by defeating the Canadian champion in the final, won the British Open in London.

Loïc, 21 years old, junior world champion in -81 kg, faced the British representative David Groom in the first fight, then the Polish Radoslaw Kozcinski, followed by the Dutch Henri Schoeman and the Italian Matéo Marconcini in the quarter-final. Furthermore, Hugo Fonghetti, recently the French University Champion, narrowly lost to the Spanish international Marco Uriarte from Valencia Judo in the round of 16 and was not subsequently repêched.
