Weather France has issued a yellow alert “rain-floods” for the Alpes-Maritimes department.
The rainstorm disturbance will approach the department starting Thursday, November 14 in the early afternoon and is expected to continue until Friday morning.
Under the strongest storms, the expected rainfall totals are as follows:
– 30 to 60 mm in a short amount of time,
– 70 to 100 mm, or even locally 120 to 150 mm for the entire rainstorm episode.
Snow showers are expected on the Mercantour massif with a rain-snow limit at 1200 meters, which will drop to 1000 meters on Thursday evening. The anticipated accumulations above 1400 meters are significant, with 40 to 60 cm.
