The scenes of urban riots last Saturday hadn’t been seen since the early December protests, whose images went around the world.
The most emblematic websites of autonomous groups and the radical left have been calling in recent weeks for people to express their anger “other than through words,” and it is not difficult to recognize them: these masked, black-gloved demonstrators, sometimes wearing yellow vests, who have smashed, looted, and directly confronted law enforcement on site.
The main leaders of the movement should understand the relationship between cause and effect. If you call upon the insurrectionary spirit, it is quite likely, if not almost certain, that someone will feel tasked with this mission.
Then the cobblestones fly, the looters loot, and the majority of “yellow vests,” who enjoy lending a helping hand to the activists or watch them doing so, become accomplices by fact.
They should be careful because by playing with fire, they will eventually get burned.
