Until December 14, the exhibition “Glimpsing the Horizon, New and Young Voices of Contemporary Chinese Art” inaugurated at the Musée départemental des Arts asiatiques* will showcase the variety and pictorial creativity of 32 young Chinese artists.


musee_arts_asiatiques.jpg The exhibition is a result of a partnership between the Museum and China Arts and Entertainment Group (a major national group responsible for international cultural exchanges).

It features 40 works of great variety, combining different techniques: oil, acrylic, and photography. The themes of inspiration for this young generation are numerous: the urban world, constructions, hyperrealism, the reinterpretation of classical Chinese painting, portraiture…

An exceptional happening based on a work by artist Tao Na: a temporary piece has been specially created for this opening. It consists of hundreds of magnets representing a view of Old Nice. By removing each magnet, which the visitor can keep, the true artwork will be revealed…

This exhibition is one of the events organized by the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and China. It has received the “France-China 50” label awarded by the Institut français.
