This Thursday, the Moulins neighborhood hosted the Sports Caravan. Organized by the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee 06, many children gathered at the Stadium field.

Under a bright sun, all conditions were perfect for the children to discover as much as possible under good supervision.

When the athletics officials were asked to justify their presence, they replied that it was necessary “to introduce this sport. We need to show people that this sport exists. It remains the first Olympic sport and in area 06 we have 30 clubs and about 3,900 members. We must guide them to choose the sport they want. If we can help them join clubs in the department, it’s all positive. We have been following the sports caravan for ten years and we are forging a partnership with the CDOS.”

The benefit is twofold, therefore. Firstly, the children have fun and discover, and secondly, the clubs get to promote themselves.

In the afternoon, Jรฉrรดme Ardissone, the recent full-contact world champion, honored the children with his presence: “The CDOS contacted me and I agreed. It’s a good way to get closer to the young, to create proximity. It also proves that even being a champion, you can be available.”
