Implemented in 2013, the ZSPs reflect the determination to intensify action and enhance the coordination of all security, education, housing, environment, and transportation services and actors, in order to reclaim the most vulnerable areas and address the security issues faced by their residents.
The development of communication within neighborhoods is one of the major objectives of the ZSP, aiming to establish different working methods that take into account the needs of the population and prioritize improving relations with the residents.
The State services (Prefecture of Alpes-Maritimes (ACSE), National Police, Gendarmerie, National Education), the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, the City of Nice, and the town of La Trinité are organizing the photo contest “Show Me Your Neighborhood.”
To allow children living in ZSPs to express their feelings and perspective on their daily environment, and also to bring up emotions and prompt reflection on actions to be taken in ZSPs, young residents of ZSPs attending primary school or college are invited to submit a photo they consider representative of their neighborhood.
At the end of January, a jury will select the best photographs from each category, which will then be showcased in a permanent and later traveling exhibition.
Several measures have been immediately implemented in the Nice ZSP:
– Definition of police and gendarmerie work priorities based on the needs expressed by the residents: combating trafficking, noise disturbances, chaotic parking, and the presence of wrecks contributing to environmental degradation.
– Development of communication with residents: neighborhood permanence, designation of ZSP referents and delegates for the population, distribution of a questionnaire to better assess the population’s expectations regarding security services.
