This Sunday at 3 PM, meet at Saint Roch Square (on the church forecourt) in Nice, to register your teams of two for the World Championship of Palhasso Long-Distance Throwing.
The goal is to throw the Palhasso, a Nissart straw man, as far as possible with the help of a sheet.*
The teams are composed of two people, each representing an existing or imaginary country.
The championship will conclude with the referees’ awards ceremony and the “merenda nissarda.”
62 people participated in the 2016 World Championship of the Palhasso.
The world record has been held since 2007 by the team Lu poetas: Joan Piccinelli and Romieu Martin, with a distance of 15.30 meters.
This event has been associated with the Independent Carnival of Sant Ròc since its inception.
