The city of Nice and the Montet Bornala Club will pay tribute to Jean Sassone, who passed away in November 2006 at the age of 75.
On this occasion, a mêlée boules tournament will be organized, bringing together boules players, former professional footballers, and friends.
Jean Sassone served as a city councilor from 1977 to 1983, then as a city councilor in charge of social action and the elderly. From 1989 to 1995, he was Deputy Mayor delegated to community affairs, markets, commerce, and industry.
In parallel with his duties, he held various positions within Citroën until becoming a branch manager.
He was a man of great integrity, extremely humane, with a Niçois temperament characterized by camaraderie, fraternity, loyalty, and trust. He always advocated for those in need.
