Remember, they all gave up the usual New Year’s resolutions. A large part of the money saved from this action funded a new advertising campaign to promote local commerce.

The Nice Chamber of Commerce and Industry wants to emphasize the importance of small merchants for the quality of life and the vitality of cities, but also for modernity and attractiveness. It also wanted to highlight the special connection they have with the consumers of the Azure region and the tourist clientele.

Posters will be present everywhere in the department: on the back of buses (in cities like Nice, Cannes, Menton, Antibes, etc.), posters will be pasted, and even two tram cars will be decked out in the colors of the campaign. It will be hard to miss this advertising with the flyers, window stickers, contact cards that will be distributed at merchants, not to mention the placemats in downtown restaurants.

In times of crisis, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry wishes to “encourage customers to consume more in the shops of city centers and villages”. A challenge far from being won given the latest attendance figures from the Nice shops.
