Pascal Mono’s fans were ecstatic last Friday, and who better than a fan to describe that “Pascalian” day?
Thus, Nice-Première decided to entrust the pen to Flora D from Beaulieu-Sur-Mer to tell us in her own words the emotions she felt when a fan meets the artist she admires.
“11 AM. The soft ticking of the watches on the wrists of the ‘Mono-fans’ grows louder and louder.
The time is approaching.
Indeed, at this time, a great day will begin for all the ‘Pascalians’ from the South as Mr. Pascal Mono, the country’s philosophical rocker, will visit the Secours Populaire in Nice to support the cause and hold a signing session. Our artist is punctual. He is there, accompanied by his charming wife Sophie and his adorable 5-year-old son, Paul, straight out of a Marcel Pagnol novel, oh so proud of his Dad, who also celebrates “The Glory of His Father” by sitting next to him during the signings.
Not all fans could make it to the meeting. Indeed, on a Friday, not everyone is available. However, there are still a few loyal supporters from his support forums, coming straight from Toulon, Ardèche, Mandelieu, Cagnes, Beaulieu sur mer, and other surroundings of our beautiful city, Nizza la bella.
It’s euphoria for all these members, intimidated, emotionally stirred, trembling at the arrival of their idol. But all these people, including myself, will not be disappointed. No. Because Pascal, with his heart on his sleeve, offers them much more than just a signing session. He chats with his fans, smiles, laughs, allows himself to be photographed a good hundred times for each camera. A golden artist, available and generous, smiling and attentive to everyone’s comments, not hesitating to answer all questions, that’s who Pascal Mono is, a great gentleman.
But we are still far from having seen it all, as Pascal will give a showcase at the FNAC in Nice at 5:30 PM. Time for talent.
Die-hard fans that we are, here we are, at 3:30 PM, on the scene. And when Mister Mono shows up, coming out of the elevator, so watched by all of us, it’s total hysteria. Shouts of “Pascaaaaal” erupt, our artist smiles, always a bit embarrassed and shy of what’s happening to him, as he lives his success with great modesty.
The concert starts right on time, after tuning the instruments, the first notes sound through the speakers, Pascal live, singing and playing guitar, it’s more than music, it’s a big show!
A powerful voice, a magical tone, mesmerizing guitar riffs, a striking combination for a complete artist.
The fans sing at the top of their lungs the compositions of Mono, who, let’s remember, is a singer-songwriter, delivering tracks from his first album: INTACT.
An album aptly named, as we have proof in images on this Friday, July 7, yes, Pascal has remained intact, from all his work put in over the last 15 years.
And what a lovely birth it is, this little baby from the music bins. A diamond with a thousand facets, between good rock and ballads, a new sound arrives in France. In France, and even beyond, since during the concert, fans from Italy (Imperia) joined us. If the two teams were facing off on Sunday night, at Pascal’s, on the other hand, it’s the fusion between the two countries, perfectly harmonizing to support so much stage presence. Don’t we say music soothes the soul? And yet, it rocks!
One simple word for this concert: THANK YOU.
But the day doesn’t end there, Pascal has to give a live interview on Pure Electro Radio, whose studios are in Cimiez.
His family, but also his fans, are wonderfully welcomed. Buffet, drinks, everything is set up for our arrival. Thanks to Philippe and Angélique for their initiatives and kindness.
Between homemade pizza, drinks, and discussions, the interview continues. Pascal, comfortable with the microphone he knows well from the stages, provides interesting and precise information about the road he has traveled, his career, his feelings about this beautiful adventure. The fans even have the opportunity to ask him questions on air, to which he responds with great sincerity and involvement.
In short, a real day in paradise for the ‘Pascalians’, both thrilled by all they have just experienced, and yet feeling orphaned when Pascal eventually has to leave, around 10:30 PM, since at 7 AM the next day his plane will depart for Belgium, where he is to give another radio interview, signings, and a concert (this time in front of 5,000 people). A busy schedule, and yet always so available. Thank you, Mr. Mono, for all that you are.”
