Vibrate to the rhythm of the Nice Jazz Festival, from July 18 to 25, 2009.

Latest News

It’s been 61 years since the creation of the Nice Jazz Festival. The oldest French Jazz Festival continues to attract thousands of spectators every year, who come to applaud some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians. After a brief stint at the Théâtre de Verdure, the festival has since 1974 been held in the Cimiez district. For the occasion, two stages are set up: the first in the pastoral gardens of the olive grove and the second on the Matisse stage, located in the plaza of the Cimiez monastery. Dream-like settings for a vibrant festival. Each evening, 5 artists will perform outdoors on the Matisse and Garden (olive grove) stages. Throughout the evening, spectators can wander through the garden aisles to attend the concert of their choice.

This year, the organizers have really pulled out all the stops as Tracy Chapman, Keziah Jones, Youssou N’Dour, Julien Doré, Maxime LeForestier, Gabriella Cilmi, Yodelice, and many others will set the tone for your evenings. Notably, there will be a special appearance by the living legend of the saxophone, Sonny Rollins.
An eclectic lineup, featuring up-and-coming artists as well as giants of the global Jazz scene.
