Nice Premium: Maurice Cohen, you are one of the new members of the UCPF Executive Committee. What is your feeling about this appointment?
Maurice Cohen: I am very happy to have been elected. It’s important for the Club’s image!
NP: What will your role within the UCPF entail?
Maurice Cohen: I am a member of the UCPF Executive Committee, which is tasked, among other things, with defending the general and specific interests of football clubs, especially within Football Authorities. It studies social, economic, legal, and professional issues submitted to it and seeks all means to resolve them in the interest of the clubs.
NP: Gervais Martel has been unanimously re-elected as Honorary President. A few words from the President about the President?
Maurice Cohen: Gervais Martel is a remarkable man whom I greatly appreciate. I wish him much courage for this season, which looks to be challenging.
NP: Regarding the new Presidency, it will be Jean-Pierre Louvel from Le Havre. Do you know each other well?
Maurice Cohen: I know Jean-Pierre Louvel through our work at the Union of Professional Football Clubs. I have been part of the UCPF committee alongside him for six years. We have excellent relations and a lot of mutual respect for our clubs.
NP: Regarding the transfer market, what would President Cohen say that he hasn’t said so far as a holiday gift to the supporters?
Maurice Cohen: I would simply ask them to be patient and trust us. Our sole objective has always been to build a competitive team, and that’s still the case today.
NP: Finally, will you be going on vacation this summer and if it’s not too indiscreet… where to?
Maurice Cohen: No, I haven’t planned to take a vacation. The summer period is always very intense, as you can imagine!
