The young woman who goes by the sweet name of Rose belongs, as they say, to the new French scene. She is 28 years old, she is from Nice, and she has swapped her platform for a stage. Yesterday, she was teaching children; today, she sings her texts that resemble poetry: true texts that speak of love, hope, and disillusionment. Through this first album, Rose slightly reveals herself. Her guitar accompanies her delicately raspy voice with bluesy or jazzy sounds, pop-folk ballads.
In 2006, the pretty Rose finally spreads her wings, a flutter that is not about to stop.

N-P: Why name her that way?
Rose: For the film “The Rose” inspired by the life of Janis Joplin
N-P: How do you go from a platform to a stage?
Rose: It’s much simpler in the end, and it especially scares me less!
N-P: How do you define your music?
Rose: French folk song
N-P: Text-based songs, how do you get your inspiration?
Rose: I don’t get inspired; I tell what happens to me, what I live, what I feel. I hope to be able to write about other things very soon and draw inspiration from life for that.
N-P: Are they autobiographical?
Rose: Completely.
N-P: It seems the first title of the album “La Liste” has always existed.
Rose: Maybe… It’s disarmingly banal, and I think that’s what makes its charm.
N-P: In fact, once you hear it, you hum it all day long. Magical?
Rose: It talks about me, you, him…
N-P: Personally, I was touched by “Ciao Bella”, a tribute to your grandfather? How did it come about?
Rose: This song was born in 10 minutes. I found the title (the last words my grandfather said to me), then the text and melody came so quickly… It’s comforting and exultant when such magic happens! But unfortunately, it’s not always the case…
N-P: Alain Souchon invited you to share his stage, how did this meeting happen?
Rose: Very simply, through our record company. He listened to my demos, and gave me this wonderful gift. He is simple, generous, and very calming.
N-P: It seems your guitar is named “Martine”?
Rose: It’s just the brand of my guitar. Hence its little name that suits it so well.
N-P: What is your favorite “Season”?
Rose: Spring. Everything has to start again… The one where he returned.
N-P: “Upside down”, what’s there?
Rose: There’s me.
N-P: Here is an album on the shelves, the stage opening up, “The games
are made”… a dream?
Rose: More than a dream, an illusion that becomes a dream, then reality… I didn’t expect so much, but the hardest part is yet to come… nothing is a given, and everything can disappear as quickly as it arrived.
N-P: When is a concert in Nice?
Rose: Very soon, I hope! Already a showcase at FNAC in January.
N-P: What can we wish you for 2007?
Rose: That the dream doesn’t stop there…
