The Jewish community has its dedicated center in the heart of Nice.

On Thursday, October 16, the inauguration of the brand new Jewish community center Jean Kling took place, named after the former Chief Rabbi of Nice who left a spiritual and moral impact on several generations of Jewish residents of Nice.

The Deputy Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, was present at the inauguration of the center located at 3 Jean Médecin Avenue, accompanied by Guy Sellam, president of the Jewish Consistory of Nice, along with all the presidents of Jewish associations, and the Rabbinical Corps.

With such a venue, the Jewish community on the French Riviera now has a cultural center bringing together numerous activities that were previously spread across various locations: a youth space, the office of the Jewish Consistory of Nice, the rabbinate office, a charitable society, as well as the radio “Chalom Côte d’Azur.”

A space that further strengthens Nice’s multicultural image, but it raises the question of whether it represents community seclusion.
