It’s a saving of nearly €300,000 that will be made by the Deputy Mayor of Nice with the cancellation of greetings to institutional bodies as well as public postings announcing the mayor’s and municipality’s greetings. Another decision in the same vein is the elimination of paper greeting cards, which will be replaced by a virtual greeting card in an eco-sustainable fashion.
Only the greetings for municipal employees will take place, but the Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes, the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, the City of Nice, and Nice Côte d’Azur, the future urban community, have decided to come together for a joint ceremony, under the banner of solidarity.
Other greeting ceremonies may be scrapped on the Côte d’Azur to cope with the current economic situation with the unpleasant taste of crisis.
