After a 15-year absence, the Nice Open tennis tournament is once again included in the ATP calendar, in the “Masters 250” category. It will be held from May 16 to May 22, 2010, at the Parc Impérial of the Nice Lawn Tennis Club.
Under the impetus of the City of Nice, the ATP has confirmed the re-registration of the Nice Open in its 2010 calendar. This tournament, which disappeared in 1995, regularly attracted the world’s best players: Bjorn Borg, Yannick Noah, Henri Leconte, and Illie Nastase are among the winners.
From a sporting perspective, the 2010 edition of the Nice Open is strategically placed in the calendar: taking place the week before Roland Garros, it should attract the best players seeking to find their footing before the Paris fortnight, media curious to follow the preparation of champions, and naturally a large audience.
