The 3rd Edition of the Nice Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will take place from April 19 to 27. Various venues will offer special programs: the MAMAC auditorium, the Mercury Cinema, the Rialto Cinema, and L’ECLAT at Villa Arson.

Benoît Arnulf (Artistic Director of the In&Out Meetings) presents this new edition:
“For its 3rd edition, IN&OUT embraces continuity. With, we hope, as much boldness as in previous years, and above all the desire to venture off the beaten path. This year, the festival has chosen “Intimacy” as the central theme of its programming, a question inspiring a significant part of the filmmakers whose films we offer. Explored in every direction, overflowing beyond normative (and cinematic) frameworks, Intimacy, a deeply interior and reserved domain, provides an experimental ground to rethink the place of sexualities, bodies, and genders in today’s world. Many unique attempts to (re)conquer this space of freedom, conducive to all transgressions yet increasingly under surveillance.”
A lineup full of novelty and eclecticism with, once again, 30 films on offer this year. Reflective of the opening film, “Cuchillo de Palo”, a dazzling stone thrown into the painful memory of her country by young Paraguayan director Renate COSTA.
The same goes for the memory of gay and lesbian cultures, celebrated during the tributes to philosopher Michel FOUCAULT, writer Jean GENET, German filmmaker Werner SCHROETER, and journalist and activist Jean LE BITOUX.
Present during the Festival, Joao Pedro RODRIGUES, Émilie JOUVET, and Vincent DIEUTRE will provide their iconoclastic views on sexualities, desire, and love passion.
Also, Céline SCIAMMA for her latest film “TomBoy”, and Louis DUPONT for the last installment of his trilogy “Les garçons du Lido”. And many others…
