The organizing committee of the Alps 2030 Olympics is preparing to examine Vincent Roberti’s candidacy for the position of General Director of Cojop. This proposal comes after the withdrawal of Jean‑François Vilotte, who was long considered as a likely successor to Cyril Linette.
The preparation of the Alps 2030 Olympics is entering a new phase with the executive board meeting scheduled for Monday, May 11. Two subjects structure this session: the choice of the men’s ice hockey venue and the designation of the future general director. Jean‑François Vilotte’s candidacy will not be retained, even though his name was at the top of the options considered to replace Cyril Linette, who left in February. Approached for the first time last year by Edgar Grospiron, the former general director of the French Football Federation had already declined this approach.
The proposal to be submitted on Monday will concern Vincent Roberti. This senior civil servant has held the position of prefect of Tarn‑et‑Garonne since March 2023. His career reflects extensive experience within the administration, with responsibilities held in several prefectures and within the Court of Auditors. This profile marks a different orientation from that considered with Jean‑François Vilotte. The final decision should be made within about ten days.
Vincent Roberti’s career sheds light on this orientation. A graduate of ENA, he began as an advisor to the regional audit office of Midi‑Pyrénées. A move towards positions as sub-prefect on a mission with the prefect of Pas‑de‑Calais in 2006 preceded an appointment as secretary general of the Landes prefecture in 2008. These successive responsibilities led him towards management positions within the State, notably at the Ministry of the Interior where he has held, since August 2020, the position of director of procurement, finance and real estate. His arrival at the head of the Cojop would constitute a first prefect’s term extended by a strategic mission in organizing the Games.
The day of May 11 promises to be decisive for the governance of the organizing committee. The choice of the future general director must accompany the next stages of the project, while decisions on sites and infrastructure progress. This nomination proposal places Vincent Roberti at the center of discussions, with a solid administrative profile and extensive experience in public management.
