On Friday night, at the opening of the second day of the Ligue A, Nice faced Montpellier for the first home match of the season. Defeated in all areas of the game, the blues and yellows never managed to thwart the Montpellier team. Nice lost 3 sets to 0 (16-25, 20-25, 16-25).

On Friday night at Palmeira, everything quickly turned in favor of Montpellier, who were far superior at the net. Consistently blocked on the wings, the spikers could not match the level set by their opponents.
With the first set in hand (25-16), the Hérault team continued their momentum at the start of the second set. Nice responded too late, and the effective serves by Raphaël Mrozek made no difference (20-25).
