Nice-Premium introduces you to great spots every week. Today, “Mangez-moi,” 9 rue Blacas in Nice.

With a countryside setting and a friendly welcome, “Mangez-moi” is an invitation to calmness. At any time of the day, come and relax in the shade of its avocado tree…
Open for 3 years, “Mangez-moi” is a reference to the cake that Alice must eat to enter Wonderland. It is also a tribute to Agnรจs Desarthe’s book. Thus, a double literary origin for a place full of poetry.
The concept is to offer, in a charming setting, homemade family cuisine with fresh seasonal products (currently strawberries from La Gaude). Every hour of the day has its gourmet formula where every craving, whether salty or sweet, is fulfilled. Guests can come for brunch in the morning or lunch at noon. From 3 PM to 6 PM, “Mangez-moi” transforms into a tearoom with a rich selection of teas and homemade pastries that make your mouth water: lemon cheesecake from the garden, orange cake, orange/chocolate crumbleโฆ From 5 PM to 8 PM, it’s time for a cocktail dinner. It’s an opportunity to get together after work to enjoy salad, cold cuts, cheese on olive wood boards. On Fridays and Saturdays, the week ends with a nice dinner.
The clientele is predominantly female, but young couples do not hesitate to enter this haven of peace where strollers are welcome. Home fries are particularly popular with the little gourmets!
When the warm days arrive, the terrace naturally fills up, but the interior is also worth a look. With lots of charm and English style, the restaurant area extends into a very cozy lounge corner. Everywhere you will find handcrafted decorative items and objects sourced from flea markets that are available for sale. Moreover, the restaurant offers homemade jams and Breton products from Guilvinec. Teapots, linens, paintings, there are many gift ideas to please someone or treat yourself.
The owner with a soft voice confides that with her husband it’s somewhat like their “fourth child.” An adventure carried out with passion and success.
