On Friday, January 6, 2012, at 2:30 PM, at the Town Hall of Clans, a ceremony was held for the signing of partnership agreements related to the renewal of the concession for the Bancairon – Courbaisse hydroelectric plants.
The renewal of the Bancairon – Courbaisse hydroelectric concession demonstrates EDF’s commitment to maintaining and developing renewable energies in the Tinée Valley. It contributes to securing electricity for the eastern part of the PACA Region, in line with the commitment of all stakeholders in the area towards energy efficiency, electricity demand management, grid security, and the development of clean energies.
Within the framework of the hydroelectric concession renewal process, EDF and the local communities of the Tinée Valley have sought to build a long-term partnership to support local economic development, with backing from State Services, the Nice-Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area, and the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes.
This territorial support partnership has resulted in the signing of an agreement between EDF and each of the Communes in the Tinée Valley. The development of renewable energies in the Alpes-Maritimes is a matter that unites all local stakeholders.
