Robert Injey (PC): “The tenants of Roquebillière have been abandoned!”

Latest News

Statement by Robert Injey: “During a meeting a few weeks ago, several tenants of the residence used this expression of abandonment. The phrase is striking, but it is not an exaggeration!

Just take a walk around the ‘residence’ to realize something obvious: the public housing in Roquebillière (east district of Nice) is not a priority for Côte d’Azur Habitat.

The presidents of the public housing office come and go (Baeza, Stellardo, Nicoud, Peyrat, Estrosi-Sassone), the mayors of Nice follow one another (Peyrat, Estrosi) just like the UMP deputies of the district (Ehrmann, Rivière, Ciotti), but nothing changes in Roquebillière.

Maintenance problems, elevator operations, building deterioration, infiltration issues leading to mold with severe health impacts, noise, relocation difficulties while some apartments remain vacant for several months… there is much to be done. A tenant who has been here for 34 years has noted: ‘it’s getting worse and worse.’

In response to this situation, we will hold another meeting with the tenants to establish a grievance log and review the dire situations within the residence.”
