nissangels-7.jpg The outcome of the final, however, remained uncertain until the last quarter of play, then the shooting errors of the Niss’Angels benefitted their opponents who took the lead to finish with a fairly significant margin (65-55).

But, all the participants had hoped, during the press conference organized the day before the competition, “that the celebration would be beautiful and that the best team wins”. And indeed, the celebration was beautiful thanks to the players and the organizers, and what more can be said than that, ultimately, the best team won!

The team from Angers claimed the title of the LF2 2013 Champion of France by defeating Nice in the final (65-55). Angers managed to provoke and take advantage of Nice’s failure in outside shooting to win.

The final began with the traditional observation round and its share of inaccuracies. Well-established in zone defense, as the day before, Angers took the lead: at the end of the first quarter (16-15).

No team wanted to give in, Nice did not advance despite open shots, and UFAB took advantage to lead 32-28 at halftime.

The speech from Rachid Meziane, the coach from the Cรดte d’Azur, during the break visibly bore fruit. The team from Nice quickly regained control of operations to lead (43-41) in the third quarter.

In the last quarter, the back-and-forth on the scoreboard resumed again. Then Angers solidified their lead with a 16-2 run and extended their lead to 12 points. Nice attempted everything in the money time, CNB06 closed the gap to 6 points but the team from Angers held on and eventually won 65-55.
