On July 5, 6, and 7, the commune of La Gaude and the organization โGAULGAUDAโ invite all generations to immerse themselves in the heart of Antiquity, around the Basse Gaude neighborhood.
After a journey back in time of more than two thousand years, the public, dressed up if they wish, will become witnesses to the great clashes between Gauls, Roman legions, and Greek warriorsโฆ
Around the stadium, they can cheer on athletes from numerous Greek cities at the grand Olympic Games.
In their living camp, these heroes will welcome the public and offer them hands-on experiences, training sessions, workshopsโฆ
In the heart of an ancient village, everyone will discover the various crafts of our ancestors such as pottery, barrel-making, blacksmithing, and stone carvingโฆ
The open stage of the ancient theater will host in turn different local troupes trying their hand at the perilous exercise of Greek tragedy (reviewed

At the cultural center, the most curious will discover the history of alphabets through the fascinating exhibition on the birth of writing. A second exhibition on Greco-Roman mythology will immerse visitors in the heart of the myths and legends of Antiquity.
The cultural space will also offer conferences, notably on the Olympic Games, Greek warriors, archery, and the origins of the Greek presence in our region.
There will be numerous activities for children. They can follow various warrior or sports training, play as little archaeologists, practice archery, participate in the pottery workshop, challenge Hercules in the games area, fully understand
mythology, and learn about Greek artsโฆ
Letโs celebrate with the humor characteristic of this event, with its iconic barrel race, its standing stone throwing championship, and
this year, โthe Gaulgautic Games,โ which will see six towns and villages from the mid-country compete in comical eventsโฆ
