The Renoir Museum in Cagnes is operational again after its renovation.

The Renoir Museum, known as “Domaine des Collettes,” the last home of the artist, will reopen its doors this summer after significant renovation work. Located on the heights of Cagnes, Les Collettes offers breathtaking views of the sea, the Cap d’Antibes, and the medieval village of Hauts-de-Cagnes.

The Domaine des Collettes, a haven of peace with century-old olive trees, charmed Renoir to such an extent that he decided to build his house there. In 1908, he moved in with his family. The house, commissioned by the Renoir couple, was built in a park planted with olive trees, orange trees, umbrella pines, and a rose garden.

The Alpes-Maritimes delegation of the Heritage Foundation actively contributed to the funding of the restoration work by launching a subscription appealing to popular sponsorship. The Foundation supplemented this with an additional grant of €10,000. It also sought sponsorship from its national partner, the CGPA company. The Association of Friends of the Renoir Museum contributed a sponsorship of €50,000.
