This Tuesday, July 23, 2013, the groundbreaking ceremony for the mixed-use project “West Parc” will take place.
Located in the urban technopole Nice Méridia at the heart of the National Interest Project of the Plaine du Var – Eco-Valley, this program will offer a total of 167 housing units for sale or social rental: 40 collective social housing units – landlord Côte d’Azur Habitat, 52 social housing units in usufruct Phocéenne d’Habitation and group PERL, and 75 housing units at controlled prices for purchase.
An ambitious housing policy is being pursued by the city of Nice and the Metropolis alongside all institutional and private partners. The flagship actions include the mobilization of land resources and all existing tools to respond to the concrete needs of citizens and to facilitate the realization of residential journeys.
The Metropolis has transferred its land to the consortium Cogedim/Icade, which will develop on an area of more than 11,000 m², four BBC buildings ranging from R+5 to R+11. Cogedim and Icade are signatories of the Public/Private Partnership Charter for a constructive framework in support of sustainable social housing, initiated by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and signed by 15 social landlords and 22 private developers in October 2012.
On the 24 hectares of the urban technopole Nice Méridia, 320,000 m² are planned for development based on a principle of functional diversity: laboratories, spaces dedicated to training and research, tertiary activities, housing, shops, sports facilities, and public services.
