For 23 years, SPORTEL Markets (SPORTELMonaco, SPORTELAmerica, SPORTELAsia, and SPORTELRio) have been globally recognized as the reference meetings for professionals involved in the international Sports Content sector for Television and New Media. The 2012 edition will take place from October 15 to 18 at the Grimaldi Forum.
A series of Conferences, Meeting-Events, and Round Tables, during which the latest trends related to Sports Content for Television, the Internet, and mobile platforms are developed.
The SPORTEL Golden Podiums Night
This evening awards, across 6 categories, the best sports sequences and slow-motion shots, as well as the SPORTEL Book Prize, in the presence of numerous personalities.
This year, the Awards Ceremony will take place at the Grimaldi Forum on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, under the Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and in the presence of many personalities.

Sports Illustrated
Created at the initiative of Prince Alexandre de Merode 15 years ago, the SPORTEL Book Prize rewards the most beautiful illustrated sports books of the year. This competition highlights books that best convey the diversity and emotion that sport generates through their originality and rich illustrations.
In 2011, 42 books from 6 countries were pre-selected by the Secretary of the Book Prize, Renaud de Laborderie, to participate in the competition. A Jury composed of professionals from publishing and sports meets in Monaco during SPORTEL to review the received books and select the two most beautiful.
The selection of the Jury members is based on three principles:
- the aesthetics of an illustrated sports book
- the promotion of sports values
- the wide variety of topics and sports covered
