The prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes has ordered the administrative closure of The Little Shop, located at 34 avenue Georges Clémenceau in Nice. The establishment will be closed for six months following several months of reports and inspections that resulted in 71 violation notices.
The Little Shop store, located at 34 avenue Georges Clémenceau in Nice, will be subject to an administrative closure for six months. The store was established in Nice on March 20, 2026. Since the beginning of the year, several reports have concerned nuisances around the establishment.
According to information provided by the municipality, 89 resident reports have been filed. These reports led to the issuance of 71 violation notices. Among the violations noted are 45 late closings, eight noise nuisances, three violations related to illegal beverage sales and 15 unauthorized garbage dumping incidents.
The municipality indicates that inspections were intensified at the request of Éric Ciotti, mayor of Nice. The various findings made on-site were subsequently transmitted to state authorities.
Administrative closure for six months
Following these findings, the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Jean-Marie Girier has decided to administratively close The Little Shop for a period of six months. The measure is to take effect within 48 hours.
The decision comes as residents have reported repeated nighttime disturbances in the area for several months. The services of the city of Nice also mention reports of trafficking around the establishment.
This closure aims to restore peace and quiet in the Georges Clémenceau avenue area. The municipality also indicates its intention to continue inspections at establishments that are the subject of reports or show irregularities.
These interventions are notably coordinated by the Shared Intervention Unit. The structure brings together different services to facilitate inspections and interventions at the establishments concerned.
The city of Nice finally plans to increase the staffing of this unit. A tripling of staff is to be submitted for a vote at the next Municipal Council meeting to be held Monday, October 12 starting at 9:30 a.m. According to the municipality, this development should make it possible to intensify inspections and shorten response times to situations affecting neighborhood peace and quiet.
