Handi Forum 06: Associations Come Together to Move Forward

This first edition of the Disability Forum, organized by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, is an opportunity to raise public awareness about disability and accessibility, inform individuals with disabilities, their families, and institutions about their rights and the existing facilities in Alpes-Maritimes, and to unite the largest number of partners and residents of the department.


handi_forum_06.jpg Handi Forum 06 will be held this Saturday, November 17 from 9 AM to 5 PM, at Maison du Séminaire in Nice, 29 Franck Pilatte Boulevard.

More than just a Forum, this event is intended to be a meeting place: thematic workshops, cultural shows, films, booths, sports, and outdoor activities will animate the day, focusing on professional integration, access to healthcare, housing, social life, and access to rights.

10:00 AM: 1st series of workshops

Room Cézanne – Autism: Social life and access to somatic care

Room Bonnard – Reception of young children with disabilities and childcare arrangements

Room Picasso – The professional path of adults with disabilities

Room Bréa – Leisure – Sports – Culture

Room Chéret – Healthcare pathway for women with disabilities in Alpes-Maritimes

11:00 AM: Speech by Mr. Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes

11:30 AM: Conference by JF CHOSSY: “Moving from care to consideration”

2:00 PM – 2:50 PM: 2nd series of workshops

Room Chéret – Living in the city with a psychological disability

Room Bonnard – Health facilities for adolescents

Room Picasso – The evolution of a life and employment project – From child to adult

Room Cézanne – Mobility solutions across the territory

Room Bréa – Being deaf or becoming deaf

3:30 PM: 3rd series of workshops

Room Bréa – Care pathway for multi-disabled individuals in Alpes-Maritimes

Room Chéret – Living in the city with a psychological disability (2)

Room Cézanne – Child/adult transition – Evolution of a school life project

Room Picasso – Accessibility in and to housing

Room Bonnard – Visual impairment and access to the city

4:45 PM: Closing – Speech by Mr. Lauriano AZINHEIRINHA, General Councilor in charge of the “Disabled Persons” mission, Deputy Mayor of Nice, Community Councilor of Nice Côte d’Azur.

Outdoor activities:

Presentation of parasports activities and adapted equipment, PMR routes, adapted foosball, “shared gardens” beds, guide dogs, etc.

Artistic and cultural activities:

Room Matisse configured for 80 theater seats where performances and film screenings by, for, or with disabled people will take place throughout the day.
