The European Heritage Days: an event in the name of history and Europe.

Latest News

From the Open House Day in historical monuments, created by Jack Lang in 1984, to the European Heritage Days officially launched in 1991 by the Council of Europe, this event has taken on a broader scope.

The attention given by elites to the accessibility of cultural heritage, and the success achieved in the various participating countries, only enhance the truth of the European motto, “In varietate concordia” (united in diversity).

Over the years, this event has become an opportunity to celebrate not only historical monuments but also the entire cultural heritage, defined by UNESCO as the grouping of several types of heritage.

It is proof, if any were needed, that the notion of heritage remains more than ever linked to the future and not fixed in the past.
