Municipal Elections Nice 2014: Jean-Luc Gag Joins the Estrosi Team

Latest News

The place was by far the most suitable for this small and friendly performance played yesterday midday at the Francis Gag theater.

A convivial way to spend time like the English, who often organize classical music concerts during the lunch break. Or like the Théâtre de la Photographie, which had this nice habit before it somewhat faded away.

gag_estrosi-2.jpg The title of the conference made you want to be there: Christian Estrosi will make an announcement. Without really knowing why, one expected something important, something surprising. In the end, no great mystery (so eagerly awaited…) was revealed.

Quite simply, the “candidate” Christian Estrosi asked Jean-Luc Gag, grandson of Francis Gag, founder of the theatrical tradition in Nice, himself a teacher (of Nissart and… French), playwright in Nissart of theater plays, president of the association that manages this same theater and finally an actor himself, to be part of his team during the next term.

Christian Estrosi: Jean-Luc GAG I ask you to join my team and contribute to our work for the people of Nice

And quite simply too, Jean-Luc Gag accepted: “I am making this choice today because I am free to work with the people I trust,” declared the theater man from Nice.

Yesterday, as was reminded, was the 26th anniversary of the passing of Francis Gag! That his grandson contributes and brings his qualities to the popular institution by definition is rather symbolic and appreciable.

Civil society needs such gestures. And then, politics is a bit of a comedy, so having an actor participate, what could be more normal?

So no big announcement, nor huge surprise? No, none of that, but a convivial moment that even made most forget their lunch.
