On Friday, October 7, at 6 p.m. at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, in the presence of S.E. Mr. Bernard Fautrier, Vice-President of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the three 2011 laureates, representatives of Disneynature, and two representatives of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Since 2008, the Awards of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation have honored individuals who are exceptionally committed to the protection of our planet.
Let us recall the message from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco: “I wanted to create these Awards to offer my full support to the exceptional men and women committed to saving our planet,” declared HSH the Sovereign Prince during the first edition.
H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince will honor several international personalities for their exemplary actions in favor of the environment and the protection of the planet, in each of the three priority areas of action of His Foundation: climate change, biodiversity preservation, and access to water and the fight against desertification.
After Alain Hubert, Dr. Jane Goodall, and Sunita Narain in 2008; Professor Edward Osborne Wilson, Mrs. Marina Silva, and Mr. Pan Yue in 2009; Professor James Lovelock, Dr. Peter Hamilton Raven, and Professor Malin Falkenmark in 2010, the 2011 laureates will receive a specially created trophy for the occasion.
The Foundation will also reward the work of young researchers from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Exclusive screening of the film “Félins” by Disneynature
The 2011 Awards ceremony will be preceded by an exclusive screening of the film “Félins” to which 1000 guests are invited.
Disneynature, a film production label with an environmental focus, chose to feature the emotional and captivating story of the masters of the African savanna, for whom nothing is ever taken for granted, in this film.
A fascinating dive into wildlife that has never before been seen on the big screen, to be discovered in cinemas in France on February 1, 2012.
