Registrations before and including October 15, 2011
The Nice-based association IMAGO, with the support of the City of Nice, the Contemporary Music and Jazz Class of the National Conservatory of the Regional Influence of Nice, the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, and in partnership with Panda Production, La Coopérative, and ARCADE Paca, is organizing the project “La Ruche” aimed at supporting contemporary music groups.
Groups residing in the Alpes-Maritimes can try their luck subject to the following conditions:
· Have at least one musician from the group residing in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
· Prove that at least 80% of their repertoire consists of original compositions.
· Complete the application form downloadable from the Imago association’s website: https://www.imagoproduction.com
· Attach a CD with at least 4 tracks, a bio, a technical sheet, and an HD visual.
The application form must be sent before October 15, 2011, either:

- The selection will proceed in 3 stages:
IMAGO, 36 Rue Docteur Pierre Richelmi, 06300 Nice.
1° A pre-selection based on the application form and CD by the Ruche jury.
2° Selected groups will meet the jury at the beginning of November 2011 to present their project and motivations.
3° Five groups will be selected to participate in the Ruche Contest, organized by Panda Production at the Théâtre Lino Ventura in Nice, on December 09.
A professional jury will decide at the end of this evening which three groups will be chosen for “La Ruche 2012,” who will benefit from one year of support from live performance professionals and the Contemporary Music and Jazz class of the National Conservatory of the Regional Influence of Nice.
“La Ruche” will notably allow:
· To benefit from artistic support by Fred Luzignant at the National Conservatory of the Regional Influence of Nice, and logistic support by David Benaroche, a live performance professional.
· To do a four-day stage residency with a coach, with a recorded and filmed final public presentation.
· To record for five days in a professional recording studio.
· To receive help in creating promotional tools and visuals.
· To attend professional training on live performances.
· To participate in the grand finale of the “La Ruche” Contest, which will take place in 2012.
- These three groups will sign a commitment agreement outlining their objectives and respective support needs and will have to pay a 70€ registration fee per person to the Conservatory of Regional Influence of Nice.
