Eric Ciotti presented the winners of the 2015 health call for projects alongside Professor Arnold Munnich, Jury President, Pediatrician-Geneticist and Director of the genetics department at Necker Sick Childrenโs University Hospital in Paris. The numbers speak for themselves: 30 applications received, 21 selected for a total amount of more than 2 million euros (precisely 2,107,987.25 euros).
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a “health system” consists of all organizations, institutions, resources, and people whose primary purpose is to improve health.
That is why, for many years, the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes has been resolutely engaged with researchers and has been conducting a proactive and ambitious health policy in service of its residents.
The budget allocated to the health policy reflects the General Councilโs commitment: in 2014, 5,633,000 euros were budgeted, of which 3,860,000 euros were for investments; in 2015, 4,103,000 euros were budgeted, of which 2,260,000 euros were for investments.
Alongside an extremely talented and dynamic medical and academic community in Alpes-Maritimes, the General Council is helping to provide medical teams and researchers in the department with expanded and modernized material means, thus enabling patients to benefit from advanced technologies acquired by health facilities.
For Eric Ciotti: “These health calls for projects represent an unprecedented approach. A true spearhead of the Alpes-Maritimes General Council’s policy in support of the health system, this innovative initiative, which goes beyond the Departmentโs mandatory competencies, has been pursued since 2006 to reach over 25 million euros, benefiting 170 projects.”
In turn, Professor Arnold MUNNICH, President of the Scientific Committee of the Health Call for Projects 2015, expressed: “I want to warmly salute this fine initiative and express my gratitude to the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes. This support is very important for the medical and scientific community from a collectivity.”
