Is there a link between sports and cancer? What type of physical activity should one engage in?
How often? And what if one is ill?

These are the questions and many others that Professor Jean-Marc Ferrero, an Oncologist at the Antoine-Lacassagne Center, Professor Maurice Schneider, President of Committee 06 of the League Against Cancer, Gรฉrard Bourrat, patient and author of “The Everest, the Cancer, the Life,” and Elodie Charpentier, representative of the Gymโ€™Aprรจs Association, will attempt to answer during this conference open to everyone: patients, healthcare professionals, and families.

Testimony of Gรฉrard Bourrat “The Everest, the Cancer, the Life”:

โ€“Physical Activity and Cancer

According to the WHO, engaging in physical activity daily would reduce the risks of tumors, particularly those of the colon and breast. This positive news may be surprising, but these results are well established and quite impressive.

The WHO highlighted this study within the framework of the Global Recommendations on Physical Activity for Health, provided to national and regional policymakers to prevent non-communicable diseases.

31% of the world population does not engage in any physical activity, a situation considered one of the four risk factors for death worldwide, along with tobacco, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

The lack of activity plays a role in the death of more than 3 million people according to the WHO.
