Cross-border relations: The General Council supports the teaching of the Italian language

Latest News

In the context of cross-border policy, educational actions in middle schools, such as the teaching of foreign languages, are supported by the General Council.

In this regard, Eric Ciotti, President of CG06, and Ms. Serena Lippi, Consul General of Italy, signed a collaboration agreement to ensure the continuity of Italian language courses between elementary school and middle school.

The event took place at Vernier Middle School (which is part of the “International City Center” project), in the presence of a representative of the Academy’s Inspection and Ms. Marianna Giuliante, President of Coalit, who oversees the administrative management of the operation.

For reference, this school year’s agreement concerns 14 educational institutions in the department (in Nice, the Thérèse Romeo, Digue des Français I and II schools, and Vernier Middle School).

The courses are taught by 6 native Italian-speaking teachers and involve 875 students.
