Statement from the socialist representative: “Democracy is respect for others. Yet, this basic republican principle is increasingly ignored every day by Christian Estrosi. This autocratic drift must be publicly denounced.”
For Patrick Allemand, it was never a question of the Region blocking the Eco-Vallée OIN. It is simply a matter of making its voice heard, defending its options, to modify a 86-page territorial project engaging our territory for 20 years and which Christian Estrosi had put back on the table the very same day in session.
“By this process, he prohibits his opposition from conducting a thorough study of the file and clearly displays the disdain he has for the elected officials. It was well understood yesterday that his dream was for the Region to leave the OIN to give him full control. He will have to get that idea out of his head!”
Response from the shepherd to the shepherdess following the statements of the Deputy Mayor of Nice after the last community council.
“The way the regional representatives sitting on the Board of Directors of the EPA Eco-Vallée were treated yesterday is not worthy of a political leader who has held the eminent positions he has within our Republic.
Impromptu interruptions, verbal violence, a clearly stated desire to exclude the representatives of the Region from this Board of Directors, seeking an incident during the session that did not happen thanks to the composure shown by my colleagues Gérard Piel and Annabelle Jaeger.
Every tactic was used. Even threats, directed at the two mayors, Messrs Testi and Tornatore, who were ordered before a stunned Board of Directors to vote correctly if they wanted their municipalities to join the Metropolis.
The people of Nice need to discover the true face of Mr. Estrosi, who must understand that opposition is, by definition, the opposite of submission.
His pathetic political agitation, suggesting on the eve of the holidays that the Region would block the OIN, is irresponsible. He deliberately risks scaring away investors and thereby plays with the expected jobs, particularly for the unemployed in our Department.”
