The match against Reims being moved to Friday, October 17, and after being exempt during the first day of the championship, the women of Cavigal Nice Basket 06 will play their first match of the season and also their first home game on the 3rd day of the LF2 Championship.
Managed by Rachid MEZIANE, assistant of the French Women’s National Team, the Nice team will host Limoges ABC en Limousin this Saturday, October 11, at 8 PM at Salle Leyrit. Limoges is currently ranked 9th with 1 defeat and 1 victory.
It is an experienced team in League 2, known for its aggressiveness both offensively and defensively (5th in defensive rebounds, 1st in personal fouls, season 2014-2015).
This match will be a first test for the Nice team, composed of young talented players from training structures such as Bourges (Sophia ELENGA, U20 European Champion), the Federal Basketball Center (Laetitia GUAPO, Maîmouna BA, U18 European Vice-Champion), and from the Cavigal Nice Basket 06 training center (Marie-Eve PAGET, U20 European Champion, Léa GUILLOT, Solène PERON, Dégane BALLE BONZA), and reinforced
by 3 strong new recruits, Shenita LANDRY (USA), Janelle BEKKERING (Canada), and Isabelle STRUNC (French).
The objectives of the season are to build long-term, train the youth, and reintegrate into the Elite of Women’s Basketball to stay there.
