The departure of French citizens for Jihad and their return represent a real danger for democracies. Stopping this trend is a national priority.

For the first time in France, and on the initiative of Club de la Presse 06, academics, security officials, researchers, and field actors come together to analyze this phenomenon. Of the thousand French citizens heading for Jihad this year, the Alpes-Maritimes region provides the largest contingent.

These meetings are intended to establish a diagnosis on the effective means of preventing these departures and dealing with possible returns.

The departures of French citizens for Jihad, prevention methods, the role of media, scientists, and field actors… These are the topics to be addressed to try to better understand this new phenomenon.

Departure for Jihad: the role of the media and concerned actors (Saturday, November 22 from 9 am to 1 pm, Amphitheater 1 outside the central building)

Author of numerous works on crime and terrorism.

Christian Vallar. Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Nice, Co-Director of the Master’s in Internal Security, University of Nice.
