The 16th Nice Cinema and Video Meetings

Latest News

From November 27 to 29, the 16th cinema and video meetings will take place at the Mercury Cinema, Place Garibaldi, and Le Volume, 6 Rue Defly. [The Regard Indรฉpendant association](https://regardindependant.hautetfort.com/) continues its work of promoting independent creation and the Super 8 film format, which will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary next year.

The theme with multiple interpretations, “Mad City,” was chosen for this new annual event.

Films made throughout the year on this theme, in Super 8 format following the “shot-edited” principle, will be screened at Mercury Cinema on Saturday, November 29, starting at 8:30 PM.

The three days of the Meetings will, as usual, be dedicated to regional cinematic creation. A selection of school and workshop films, as well as short films by regional filmmakers, including animation, fiction, documentaries, and experimental films, will be offered.

The works of Florian Schonerstedt, Antoine Banni, Elisabeth Leuvrey, Jonathan Hudic, and Guillaume Levil, who will host a special session with Xavier Ladjointe on independent filmmaking and production, will be featured.

Also on the screens will be “La Machina,” an original feature film by Thierry Paladino that travels from village to village in southern France.

The opening will include a carte blanche for the Normans of La petite marchande de films, a concert by Jean-Louis Chinaski, and a new session of “Ramรจne ta bobine,” where spectators are invited to bring their old Super 8 films for a surprise screening.

Around the Super 8, the discovery of “Kodachrome,” a feature-length road movie by the collective “Les renards,” young Belgian filmmakers passionate about this legendary film stock, will be offered, along with a carte blanche to the Super 8 shot-edit film festival in Strasbourg.
