Three new patients (3 residents in Nice, 1 in Villeneurve-Loubet) have been added to the list.
Investigations are currently being conducted by ARS PACA to identify contact cases.
To date, in the Alpes-Maritimes, 16 patients are hospitalized for coronavirus.
The health status of the positive patients being treated is not a cause for concern; only the situation of the Italian national patient detected on February 29th and originating from Lombardy remains worrisome.
While 24 cases of COVID-19 are now counted in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and in prevention of a larger epidemic, the Southern Region has established, starting yesterday, Thursday, March 5, 2020, a permanent monitoring cell.
Renaud MUSELIER, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, President of Regions of France, presented this cell today and declared:
“The cell we are institutionalizing today for the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region targets all regional staff, its 190,000 high school students, the 30,000 people in training, as well as the economic actors of our territory.
It is organized around four priority dimensions:
- From February 27th, the Region, bordering Northern Italy, in connection with the Regional Health Agency, has disseminated prevention messages in all regional transport for which it is responsible. This cell will have the task of updating and continuing this awareness.
- The 6,000 agents of the regional community have all been regularly informed of the procedures to follow and the newly implemented protocols to combat the spread of the virus, including in our high schools and training organizations.
- It is responsible for implementing, if necessary, the business continuity plan; we will apply the directives set by the State, so that this epidemic is confronted with professionalism, rigor, and seriousness, and that the continuity of public service under the Region’s responsibility is ensured.
- Finally, this cell will monitor companies that may be experiencing difficulties due to the consequences of this global epidemic.
