The closure of food markets in Nice is not understandable. Many markets are open elsewhere while adhering to health protection regulations.
The risk of contamination is higher in supermarkets, in confined spaces, with objects being continuously touched by different people throughout the day (baskets, carts, products for sale, etc.) and frequent queues and congestion.
It concerns the survival of our market gardeners. The near-monopoly of large retail chains is unacceptable.
The coronavirus health and economic crisis demonstrates to those who were still resistant the necessity to strive as much as possible for food self-sufficiency, to develop peasant and eco-friendly agriculture, and short supply chains.
We must defend our local producers! The world of tomorrow starts today.
