Heritage conservation in the spotlight in an exhibition

Latest News

Last Friday, the exhibition “Renovation and Heritage Conservation in Nice” was inaugurated at the Heritage Center, in the presence of Jean-Luc Gagliolo, Municipal Councilor for historical heritage, archaeology, archives, literature, the fight against illiteracy, theater, the Niรงoise language, and the welcome of new residents of Nice. It is on display until August 30.

This exhibition brings together several examples of restoration, restitution, or renovation works carried out in Nice and tells, for each project, a fragment of the Niรงoise culture. Organized in chronological order, it will show you the importance of architecture in improving the life of a city’s inhabitants by restoring the splendor of urban planning. More specifically, the architect must always keep three words in mind: the Beautiful, the True, and the Useful. To successfully undertake renovation works, they must synthesize needs and provide solutions to restore a building to its original beauty.

The exhibition showcases the transformation of certain emblematic places in Nice, such as Place Massรฉna or Garibaldi. It also reveals projects of private villas or condominium buildings. “This exhibition is designed to show the diversity of art, craftsmen, and decorators,” commented Jean-Luc Gagliolo. Finally, one can learn about the legal procedure for performing this type of work.
