The communists are regaining momentum after the municipal elections and are proposing a petition for the post-crisis period.

Despite the summer holidays, the PCF 06 federation continues to engage in politics.

The Nice communists are doing so by blending prose and poetry with an ambitious preamble that goes well beyond the territorial scope!

We should not pay for the crisis!

Millions of households have seen their incomes decrease and their expenses increase. These inequalities are unbearable. The economic crisis is here: layoffs, recessionโ€ฆ

Yet, money exists: it is hidden in tax havens (the French would hold 300 billion euros in these โ€œparadisesโ€), the dividends paid to CAC 40 shareholders (in 2019, over 60 billion euros were paid, a figure that surpasses the last record of 2007). In the aftermath of the COVID crisis, 500 families own 33% of the national wealth (around 730 billion)โ€ฆ

Social inequalities have already seen exponential growth: in 1996, the 500 largest fortunes in France represented 3% of the national wealth. Today they hold 33% of the country’s wealth, and Bernard Arnault saw his fortune surpass 100 billion euros during the health crisis, making him the 3rd richest person in the world.

On the contrary, we are now launching a petition calling for urgent measures for a โ€œWORLD AFTERโ€ that is more just and equal, relying on public services that leave no one behind. It is a strong initiative at a time when the social crisis developing in our country will exacerbate unemployment, insecurity, and poverty.

Strong in these convictions, which, unfortunately for them, voters did not seem to appreciate during the recent municipal elections, the PCF 06 federation will meet with the public throughout the summer because they should not be the ones paying for the crisis!

A petition will be launched, illustrated by its leaders during a conference:

We want a โ€œworld afterโ€ that is more just and equal, recognizing the importance of public services.

โ€ข Invest in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and support small
businesses

โ€ข Freeze prices of food, water, energy, and rent

โ€ข Guarantee the halt of evictions without rehousing

โ€ข Remove VAT on essential products and basic school supplies, offset by the return of wealth tax.

โ€ข Provide an exceptional allowance of 300 euros per month for the 9 million French people living below the poverty line

โ€ข Fully compensate partial unemployment, increase the minimum wage by 20% and the lowest salaries, social benefits, and pensions accordingly.

In the meantime, we wait for the resultโ€ฆ
