Prime Minister Jean Castex is traveling to Nice following several episodes of violence.

The head of government, who has made the issue of insecurity one of his priorities, is accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, and the Minister of Justice, Eric Dupond-Moretti.

Faced with the rise of the insecurity issue following several episodes of violence, Jean Castex will attempt to provide a response during this visit to Nice, where gunshots erupted in broad daylight in front of a supermarket on Monday.

He is scheduled to deliver a speech at noon at the prefecture. On Thursday, Mr. Castex referred to “an essential, major issue” when announcing this visit, promising “concrete announcements” to combat acts that are “profoundly unacceptable.”
