Wearing a mask should be systematic according to the High Council of Public Health.

Wearing a mask? Just take a stroll down the main streets of Nice to see that this measure is practically ignored despite the directives from the City Hall and the Prefecture.

To be fair, beyond the lack of civility from the young and… the not-so-young, there is no enforcement. Have you seen a municipal police officer in action? Congratulations, you were lucky and you might as well play the lottery.

As for social distancing measures in restaurants and cafรฉs… let’s not even mention it. Does anyone know that a meter is equivalent to 100 centimeters?

Meanwhile, prepare for crocodile tears when the situation worsens… see below.

The High Council for Public Health (HCSP) advocates the “systematic” wearing of masks, “preferably made of reusable fabric,” in “all public and private collective enclosed spaces” to combat Covid-19.

The HCSP’s conclusions, released this Saturday, were drawn from the study of publications “describing contaminations that occurred in enclosed public spaces (restaurants, buses, cruise ships, choir rehearsals, etc.) and certain professional environments (slaughterhouses, etc.).”

Finally, the HCSP reminds that along with the recommendation for wearing masks, “other barrier measures for physical distancing, hand hygiene, surface cleaning and disinfection, and ventilation of premises” must “be associated.” The institution also recommends wearing masks “in case of gatherings with a high density of people outdoors in order to limit the emission of respiratory particles.”
